If I told you we've slept at all, I'd be a liar.

Seriously, it's been an incredible 3 weeks thus far, and none of it would have been possible without all of you helping to take our dream, and turn it into a reality. And the good news is that reality started early last week! We went down to Edgewater and officially **cough cough** "kickstarted" the final design for manufacturing of the Fathom One a whole two weeks ahead of schedule! On top of that, we already have some exciting news to tell you all about.  

First things first, we've fleshed out the inclusion of a auxiliary port to the underside of the drone, allowing for the attachment of sensors, manipulators, and other accessories that will greatly expand the practical uses of the Fathom One. We've also officially decided to replace the drone's forward ballast with additional lithium polymer battery cells. This has the potential to noticeably increase drone dives times (per the request of multiple backers). Lastly, the drone's hull is beginning to undergo a design revamp to make it drastically easier to assemble and increase robustness. More on this to come in following weeks! 

We really have put our heart and soul into this project, and we've put it all on the line (seriously, we're using cardboard boxes as window shades and lunch is a cup of coffee), but it's all been worth it. As we enter the final stretch of the campaign we have a few ways that you can help:

• Participate. You may have noticed that there's been some activity in the comment section of our Kickstarter page. Backers from all over the world have been posting ideas for everything from new modular attachments, to unique use cases. It's awesome! If you've got some cool ideas, tell us about them! We've already begun taking backer feedback and translating it into real additions in the Fathom One base unit.  
  
• Pledge. We want to make the Fathom One the best underwater experience possible, and in this day and age that unfortunately translates into spending more money. That's why we would humbly ask you to consider all of our pledging options.
  Pledged for one drone? Consider grabbing a friend and splitting a buddy set.
  Looking for some awesome research tools? Maybe a Fathom swarm is for you!

The Fathom One is Officially Funded!

There are no words to say how grateful we are to the Kickstarter community, our newsletter subscribers, and our friends and family for helping us reach our funding goal. It's been a long road to get to where we are now - and we're just getting started. So here's what happens now:

We've given our engineers the green light to begin both the final app development, as well as design for manufacturing of our drone hardware. We'll be sitting down with them this week to get the process kicked off. Because we were able to reach our goal relatively quickly, it has the potential to give us a leg up on our delivery dates! Stay tuned for more on that once we get the ball rolling.

Don't stop sharing the Fathom One just because we've hit our goal! The more funds we can accumulate on Kickstarter, the more cool exciting accessories we can develop in conjunction with the drone itself! After the campaign closes, we'll open up an "ideas board" where our backers and followers can voice their opinions as to what accessories, fins, and thrusters should be made to compliment the existing product. We're excited to see what you come up with!

Again, we can't thank you all enough. This marks a new phase in how the world sees underwater exploration - and it's all thanks to you, the Kickstarter community.

It's day two of the campaign, and we're closing in on the halfway mark of our funding goal! We never thought we'd be moving so fast - and it's only possible because you, the Kickstarter community, continues to push us. Thank you to all who have supported up to this point, and even if you haven't pledged, we appreciate you spreading the word about our company and flagship product, the Fathom One.
